Job Description

Granby Public Schools invites interested candidates to apply for Tier 3 Teaching Assistant - Special Education atGranby Memorial Middle School.

The Tier 3 Teaching Assistant, under the direction of a certified specialeducation staff member, assistsin the implementationof specialized instruction and provides supports as specifiedin the IndividualizedEducation Programs. These include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Assisting with academic, organizational, social/emotional/behavioral, communicationand transitionneeds as well as daily living in accordancewith IEPs.
• Providing specialised instruction and supports that may include unique skills and training in DiscreteTrialTeaching, behavior plan implementation, de-escalation techniques, psychological and physicalmanagement, health care/medical needs, feeding, ambulation, etc.
• Ongoing and frequentdata collection and tabulation as specified in the IEP
• Supporting preparationof specialized learning materials as directed by appropriate special education staff
• Engaging in regular consultationwith special education team members to implement goals/objectives, accommodation, modificationsetc.

Rate of pay is $24.83/hr.
