Job summary

Montserrat College-Art Gallery is seeking a Teaching Assistant for the Games Toys and Play department. The TA position runs Fall 2026, 6-8 hours per week, with pay of $16.00 per hour.

Shifts are 8:20am-11:00am, Monday and Wednesday, and the role requires prior completion of GTP1, plus sewing and fabrication skills. The TA will assist in class delivery, prepare the space and materials, manage the course Discord, and provide peer tutoring to students as needed.

Qualifications

• Must have completed GTP1 and sewing and fabrication skills.
• Attend at least 2 TA workshops.
• Maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and have taken GTP1.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a secondary teaching instructor in class, available Monday and Wednesday mornings.
• Support faculty with content delivery and assist students with assignments.
• Prepare instructional space weekly, gather materials, and ensure classroom readiness.

Summary Statement

Games Toys Play Teaching Assistant M/W 8:20am-11am. Must have previously completed GTP1 and have sewing and fabrication skills.

Responsibilities and Tasks

• Serve as a secondary teaching instructor in class, must be available Monday and Wednesday 8am-11:30pm during the semester with 5-10 hours of planning before the start of the semester.
• Work with the faculty with the delivery of the course content and assisting students with assignments as needed
• Prepare the instructional space for classes on a weekly basis, making sure the necessary course materials and equipment are prepared, the classroom is organized and set-up for instruction.
• Clean up classroom space and materials as needed at end of class
• Help prepare and manage the course Discord and other course materials.
• Assist students with learning and troubleshooting process and projects, in particular with sewing and fabrication
• Be a resource for students outside of class (peer to peer tutoring style)
