Job summary

NYS Office of Children and Family Services seeks personnel to provide direct instructional services to students under the supervision of a certified teacher. The role involves using lesson plans, tests, and teaching aids developed by a certified teacher.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year of permanent competitive or 55b/c service in this title or eligible for 70.1 transfer.
  • Open to the Public: NY HELPS qualifications and open-competitive minimum requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct instructional services to students under supervision of a certified teacher using lesson plans and teaching aids.
  • Reinforce subject matter previously taught by guiding students through repetitive learning exercises.
  • Administer, proctor and correct tests.
  • Additional duties discussed during the interview.

Education

Level 3 Teaching Assistant Certificate
Pre-Professional Teaching Assistant Certificate
Continuing Certificate as a Teaching Assistant
Provisional, Initial, Permanent, or Professional Teacher Certificate
