Job summary

Entrepreneurship Center by UofCanada seeks a Student Counselor to provide counseling addressing academic, personal, and career development. You will foster a confidential, supportive environment for students to navigate challenges and build success strategies.

Responsibilities include counseling sessions, faculty/staff/parent collaboration, outreach workshops, assessments, annual reports, supervising junior psychologists, and planning calendars and events.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field.
• BA/BSc in Psychology.
• Experience as a psychologist in academic institutions is preferred for part-time roles.
• Strong knowledge of student development theory and counseling techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct counseling sessions for students.
• Consult with faculty, staff and parents regarding student concerns and referrals.
• Develop and implement outreach programs and workshops to promote student well-being.
• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and evaluate counseling interventions.
• Create annual reports.

• Conduct assessments to identify student needs and evaluate the effectiveness of counseling interventions.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
• BA/BSc in Psychology
• Psychologist with 3-5 years’ experience in academic institutions needed for a part-time role.
• Experience in providing counseling services to students in a higher education setting (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of student development theory and counseling techniques.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.
