Job summary

Dominion Care seeks a compassionate Teacher Assistant to support a Special Education Teacher in a Virginia classroom, providing daily instruction and behavior management for students with diverse challenges.

You will follow lesson plans, assist with Individualized Service Plans, and communicate with families while maintaining professional standards in a formative, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Valid Driver's License.
• Reliable personal cell phone.

Responsibilities

• Implements all lesson plans as outlined by Licensed Teacher.
• Assist with implementing Individualized Service Plans with clients under the classroom teacher's direction.
• Coordinate with other service providers, staff, or families to encourage consistency among client families/caregivers and all providers.
• Complete all required documentation including daily parent communication logs, behavioral data, daily notes, and monthly reports in an accurate and timely manner.
• Develop program materials and ensure appropriate materials are available for assigned clients.
• Attend and participate in all scheduled staff meetings and trainings.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures and complete other tasks deemed necessary for the successful operation of the program.
• Maintain professional and ethical standards at all times.
