Job summary

Arts for All Nevada is expanding our team of teaching artists to provide art and creativity classes, camps, and workshops across Washoe County in schools and community facilities. This contract, part-time role requires at least two years of teaching experience with children, strong organization, and curriculum development skills.

In this position, you will teach in multiple classrooms around Washoe County, including schools, private events, and contracted classes, with availability throughout

Qualifications

• Experienced in teaching visual art to children or adults in academic settings
• Experience with working in children
• Experienced in using diverse art media
• Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills
• Have excellent ability to manage classroom environment effectively
• Experienced in developing K-12 visual art curriculum preferred

Responsibilities

• Communicate learning objectives to students and teachers
• Administer time effectively
• Create a positive and engaging environment for student learning and involvement
• Evaluate effectiveness of course curriculum and adjust instruction and materials as appropriate
• Maintain and organize art supplies
• Maintain appropriate standards of behavior, mutual respect, and safety
• Demonstrate professionalism and be an ambassador for Arts for All Nevada and represent the organization among teachers, administrators, and the community
