Job summary

Street Wise Arts seeks creative Teaching Artists to lead inclusive arts education programs for youth in Boulder, CO. You will foster creativity, self-expression, and skill development while building positive relationships with students and staff.

English and Spanish fluency is required. Experience as a visual artist or educator, inclusive teaching practices, and the ability to manage groups of 10–25 are essential. Travel to Boulder and background checks are required.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Spanish and English, including the ability to teach and communicate effectively in both languages.
• Professional experience as a visual artist, muralist, educator, or teaching artist.
• Understanding and experience with inclusive teaching practices, differentiated instruction, and accessibility principles.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and classroom management skills.
• Ability to pass any required background checks.
• Have your own transportation to Boulder, Colorado.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead creative art enrichment programs and curriculum for youth ages 6–14.
• Create welcoming and inclusive learning environments by adapting lesson plans, materials, and teaching approaches to support students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
• Manage groups of 10-25 youth at one time.
• Maintain a safe, respectful, and supportive classroom environment.
• Collaborate and communicate regularly with program staff regarding student engagement, project progress, and program needs.
• Document program outcomes through participant attendance and photographic records to support grant reporting and evaluation.

About the Role

Street Wise Arts seeks creative, compassionate, and experienced Teaching Artists to lead inclusive arts education programs for diverse youth. Teaching Artists foster creativity, self-expression, and skill development, and community connection while building meaningful relationships and serving as positive role models. Programs take place in schools, community centers, after-school programs, and alternative education settings. Artists should be adaptable to diverse learning styles, communication needs, and abilities. Fluency in English and Spanish is required.

Compensation

$35-$65 per hour, commensurate with experience. Plus 4 hours of curriculum development and a supply stipend.
