Job summary

All Saints Academy within the Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a reliable and flexible Substitute Teacher to support PK–8 classrooms.

This role maintains instructional continuity in the absence of the regular teacher while fostering a positive, faith-filled learning environment aligned with the mission of All Saints Academy. The Substitute Teacher will implement provided lesson plans, manage classroom behavior, supervise students through the day, and adapt instruction for diverse grade levels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; relevant experience in education or childcare required.
• Prior teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
• Strong classroom management and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt quickly to different grade levels and classroom environments.
• Commitment to fostering a respectful, faith-based educational setting.
• Must complete all Archdiocesan requirements, including background check and safe environment training.

Responsibilities

• Implement lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher and ensure a smooth continuation of instruction
• Maintain classroom structure, discipline, and a positive learning environment
• Supervise students throughout the school day, including transitions, lunch, and recess as needed
• Adapt instruction as needed to meet the needs of PK–8 students across various subject areas
• Communicate effectively with school staff regarding student progress, behavior, and any concerns
• Uphold school policies, procedures, and Catholic values
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all students at all times
• Leave clear and detailed notes for the returning teacher regarding the day’s activities
