Job summary

Hardy County Schools is seeking a Special Education Teacher (EHHS) to provide direct and indirect services to students per IEP, including in-person and virtual learners. The role includes IEP training, developing plans, and chairing meetings as needed.

Responsibilities also include Homebound services, completing required trainings, and collaborating with the Director of Student Support Services to support students’ educational needs.

Qualifications

  • WV Professional Teaching Certificate required.
  • Certification to teach: Multi-categorical and Autism (K–Adult).
  • Strong knowledge of writing IEPs.
  • Ability to train others in IEP development and implementation.
  • Complete all county and WVDE trainings.
  • Ability to perform the job duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Applicants with recent unsatisfactory evaluations or unfavorable references may not be considered.

Provide IEP training, assist with IEP development, chair IEP meetings as required by the Director of Student Support Services.
Provide Homebound services to Hardy County Schools students as needed.

  • Additional Minimum Requirements:

  • Applicants who have recent unsatisfactory evaluations will not be eligible for consideration.

  • Applicants who demonstrate unsatisfactory interview performance are not eligible for consideration.

  • Applicants who receive unfavorable reference recommendations are not eligible for consideration.

  • Applicants who have been dismissed or who have had their contracts non-renewed for cause are not eligible for consideration.

Application Procedure

Hardy County Schools Central Office located at 510 Ashby St., Moorefield, WV 26836. All applicants must submit an application, two (2) letters of reference, transcripts, a copy of certification, and complete a background check upon request.
Start date: September 15, 2026 for the 2026-2027 School Year
Contract Days: remainder of 200-day contract for the 2026-2027 School Year; 200 day contract for the 2027-2028 SY
Salary: Based on the 2026-2027 salary scale - commensurate with experience and education
