Title: Teacher, Spanish (High School)

Reports To: Principal

Summary

Develop students' knowledge, skills, and abilities in comprehending, speaking, reading, and writing Spanish, and foster an understanding and appreciation of the native cultures of Spanish-speaking countries.

Job Responsibilities

• Develops and administers foreign language education curriculum aligned with CCS goals and objectives.
• Teaches Spanish language skills, including comprehension, grammar, syntax, vocabulary, literature, and translation.
• Promotes understanding of the cultures associated with the Spanish language.
• Conducts ongoing assessments and adjusts instruction to meet individual student needs, including students with special needs.
• Maintains accurate records of student progress, attendance, and achievement.
• Enforces school policies and promotes good citizenship.
• Conducts self professionally and maintains confidentiality.
• Performs additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree and PA Spanish (PK-12) Teacher Certification; out-of-state certification must be transferred within a specified timeframe.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction.
• Proficiency in Spanish language, grammar, vocabulary, and literature.
• Basic computer skills.
• Clearances: Criminal Background, Child Abuse, FBI Fingerprint, all within the last year.
• Eligible for employment in a PA Public School.
