Landmark Academy is searching for a Spanish Teacher to join our team!
Summary/Objective

Landmark Academy strives to provide an excellent education to all students, aligned with our mission, vision, and goals, as well as the core values of Summit Management Consulting. Your primary goal is to ensure each student learns subject matter according to State standards and the Landmark Academy curriculum.

Essential Functions

  1. Consistently plan and deliver varied, interesting, engaging, and enjoyable lessons.
  2. Create lesson plans that accommodate students' learning styles to facilitate effective learning.
  3. Assign homework in accordance with Landmark’s philosophy and PLC guidelines.
  4. Provide assignments and assessments aligned with four-period learning, with timely feedback.
  5. Review and analyze student performance data to develop strategies to meet diverse student needs.
  6. Maintain accurate student records using Skyward.
  7. Assist in developing curriculum aligned with State standards, referring to approved guidelines regularly.
  8. Support the development and implementation of educational plans such as IEPs, 504 plans, and behavior plans.
  9. Maintain a classroom environment that is safe, nurturing, and conducive to learning, providing consistency and balance.
  10. Communicate regularly with parents regarding their child's performance and progress via multiple channels.
  11. Respond to parent communications within 24 hours.
  12. Pursue ongoing professional development, attend conferences, and keep teaching certification current.
  13. Model and teach elements of Landmark Academy’s character education program (7 Habits).
  14. Promote self-respect and respect for others among students.
  15. Use teachable moments to reinforce positive character traits.
  16. Enforce school rules and policies using Positive Behavior Interventions and Support strategies.
  17. Perform additional duties as assigned by School Administration.
Required Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree, Michigan Teaching Certification with Spanish endorsement (NS endorsement preferred), and pre-service experience as required for certification. Michigan residency required.

Physical Demands

This role involves active movement including standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing. Frequent lifting over 50 pounds is required. Visual abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
