Job summary

The position offers 27.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday, 8:45 am to 2:15 pm, with a school calendar and a 6-week summer session. Starting pay ranges from $16.34 to $17.98 per hour, reflecting experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Familiarity with IEPs and objectives to maximize learning opportunities.
• Communicate with teacher regarding student behavior, concerns, successes or problems.
• Use techniques employed by the teacher to support instruction and behavioral intervention.
• Complete mandatory trainings and pursue growth in assistive technology, augmentative communication, and working with young children.
• Ensure the safety of all students through appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities

As a Teacher's Aide, this position will help to facilitate participation in daily classroom activities, perform general classroom maintenance, and implement appropriate behavioral strategies. This will include:

• Becomingfamiliar with the IEP’s of all children with disabilities as well as objectives for all students in the class to maximize student learning opportunities and assist in their monitoring.
• Communicatingfrequently with teacher regarding student behavior, concerns, successes or problems offering suggestions when indicated.
• Usingtechniques employed by the teacher in regard to instruction and behavioral intervention to assure consistency.
• Completingall mandatory trainings and continue professional growth in the areas of assistive technology, augmentative communication, working with young children, and any other appropriate area as deemed necessary by program administration.
• Ensuringthe safety of all students by maintaining appropriate supervision at all times.
