Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools in Mount Laurel, NJ seeks a Preschool Teacher to join a vibrant Montessori program. Hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 am - 4:00 pm. You will design weekly lesson plans, assess progress, and support a nurturing, development-focused classroom.

You will collaborate with families, supervise a teacher assistant, and participate in regular staff meetings. The role includes health benefits, EAP, professional development, and a 65% childcare discount.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required (Elementary Education preferred).
• Montessori experience preferred.
• NAMC certification preferred or willingness to obtain within first year.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students’ performance using both informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio-visual aids, hands‑on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child’s progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors, including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.
