Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required (Elementary Education preferred).
• Montessori Experience (preferred).
• NAMC preferred or willing to obtain within first year of employment.
• Ability to communicate with parents effectively and professionally.
• Experience with lesson planning and development.
• Ability to multitask and function in an ever-changing environment.

Responsibilities

• Formalize weekly lesson plans for upcoming instructional period.
• Relate objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate sound instructional goals.
• Assess student performance through informal and formal assessments.
• Plan activities addressing physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs.
• Use varied instructional materials and hands-on, discovery-based learning methods.
• Maintain accurate assessments and progress notes for all students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents to discuss child progress throughout the year.
• Attend Open House, Back to School Night, In-Service days, and weekly staff meetings.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:

• Formalize lesson plans on a weekly basis for the upcoming instructional period.
• Relate instructional objectives to curriculum standards and demonstrate effective decision-making concerning instructional goals.
• Determine students’ performance using both informal and formal assessments and observations.
• Plan and implement activities to meet the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social needs of the children in the program.
• Use a variety of instructional materials, including contextual, supplemental, teacher-constructed, and teaching bulletin boards, as well as audio-visual aids, hands-on activities, discovery-based learning, and activity-based learning.
• Maintains accurate and timely educational assessments and progress notes for all assigned students.
• Train and supervise a teacher assistant within the classroom.
• Meet with parents throughout the year to discuss the child’s progress.
• Attends Open House, Back to School Night, Teacher In-Service days, and all weekly staff meetings and weekly teacher curriculum meetings

Final compensation is determined based on a combination of factors, including years of experience in a similar role, relevant certifications and/or credentials, and the size and/or geographic location of the school.
