Job summary

The role requires NJDOE certification, CPR/First Aid, water safety certification for aquatic duties, and strong classroom management, communication, and instructional skills. Compliance with NJSLS/NJSLA is essential.

Qualifications

• NJ instructional certificate in Physical Education and Health.
• Hold and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• NJ instructional certificate in Physical Education and Health


• Hold and maintain CPR/First Aid certifications


• If assigned responsibilities for teaching swimming, must hold and maintain an American Red Cross water safety certificate registered with the New Jersey State Department of Education


• Have experience in teaching and working with students in the field of comprehensive health and physical education, unless entering teaching from an alternative certification program


• Knowledge of the NJSLS and NJSLA


• Excellent classroom management


• Effective instructional practices and strategies


• Experience working with elementary students


• Excellent interpersonal skills, integrity, and good moral character


• Must be a critical thinker, problem solver, and respect others


• Must be computer literate and able to use interactive computer instructional software


• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, with staff, students, parents, and the community


• Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications


• Diagnose student strengths and weakness and match those skills with appropriate techniques and materials


• Mastery of pedagogical and subject matter skills
