Job summary

Ohio Head Start Association, Inc. in Van Wert, OH seeks a Teacher for part-year employment to support preschool children in a Head Start program. You will partner with the Head Teacher, Family Advocate and families to foster learning and development in a safe, engaging classroom.

Responsibilities include planning activities, preparing environments, conducting screenings when needed, and promoting family engagement. A background check and driving eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with a CDA or equivalent, or enrolled in a CDA program and complete within two years.
• Associate’s degree or higher in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform physical tasks; valid driver’s license required.

• Collaborate with the Early Childhood Service Coordinator, Head Teacher, Family Advocate and families to plan and implement the Head Start education program for preschool children.
• Work with children and parents in the center classroom; prepare the learning environment and gather materials; manage daily routines.
• Ensure child safety with proper supervision; support development through activities and experiences.
• Assist in developmental screenings and support family engagement and parent involvement activities.
• Complete home visits or conferences as directed for professional development; background check and drug test required.

CORS pays for educational advancement for motivated individuals with a heart for service.Description: Collaborate with the Early Childhood Service Coordinator, Head Teacher, Family Advocate, and families, to plan and implement the Head Start educational program for preschool children to prepare them for kindergarten and beyond.
