Position Overview

Physical Education Teacher at Guardian Catholic School, Diocese of St. Augustine, Office of Catholic Education. Reports to: Principal.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Catholic mission by aligning speech, actions, and instruction with Roman Catholic teachings.
  • Collaborate with the principal to foster a faith community and participate in religious activities.
  • Maintain confidentiality and security of information.
  • Adhere to diocesan and school policies, supporting spiritual, pastoral, and educational goals.
  • Prepare lesson plans that meet academic standards and integrate Catholic religious curriculum.
  • Build the faith community through active participation in religious and service activities.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of academic and religious curricula, organize learning materials, and motivate students.
  • Establish classroom management practices that promote positive behavior and self-direction.
  • Engage in continuous professional development.
Qualifications
  • Practicing Catholic in good standing preferred (or required depending on position).
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Maintain Professional Educator certification in Florida.
  • Obtain Basic Diocesan Ministry Certification within two years if not already certified.
  • Respect and promote Catholic teachings and moral standards.
  • Valid driver’s license and successful background check.
  • Proficient in computer technology and school-related software.
  • Flexible, positive, respectful attitude; able to work evenings and weekends.

Physical & Work Conditions
