Otter Learning in Charleston, SC, is seeking passionate Preschool Teachers and Teacher Assistants to join our caring daycare and preschool environment.

You will plan developmentally appropriate activities and support children from infancy to school age, using our play-based curriculum. You will also assist with daily care tasks and maintain strong parent communication in a nurturing team.

Qualifications

• Must be 18+ years old and have a high school diploma or GED (some states 16+).
• Experience with childcare licensing is helpful but not required.
• Passion for play-based learning and preschool education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and participate in age-appropriate activities to promote intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development.
• Assist with daily child care needs such as feeding, diapering/changing, and nap time.
• Maintain open communication with parents using the Classroom Management system; support Lead Teachers as needed.

What You Bring as a Team Member:

As a Preschool Teacher, you will plan, direct, and participate in age-appropriate activities designed to promote the intellectual, physical, emotional, and social development of children. Through thoughtful teaching and a nurturing approach, you will prepare children for kindergarten by easing them into organized education — from infancy to school age — using our provided curriculum.

Your role will also include assisting with daily child care needs such as feeding, changing, and nap time. You will maintain interactive and open communication with parents and fellow team members through our Classroom Management system. Teacher assistants may also support Lead Teachers in classroom management or fulfill requests made by the Assistant Director or Director.

Requirements:

Must be 18 years or older and have a high school diploma or GED (some states 16yrs old). Previous experience and knowledge of childcare licensing requirements is great but not necessary.

Pay:

$15.50-$16.00 Hour based on Region, education and experience
