Overview
Teacher, Middle School – ELD (Effective 2026-2027 SCHOOL YEAR) – Utterback Middle School of the Arts, Tucson, Arizona. This position prepares lesson plans, instructs students, and evaluates student progress in an inclusive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver ELD instruction aligned with curriculum objectives.
- Assess student progress and adjust instruction to meet learning needs.
- Complete AZELLA testing and adhere to ADE compliance requirements for English Learners and PHLOTE students.
- Collaborate with instructional team members to plan and coordinate instruction.
- Engage in continuous professional learning activities to improve instructional practice.
Minimum Requirements
- Arizona Elementary Certificate with Middle Grades Language Arts or English Approved Area
- OR Arizona Middle Grades Certificate with Middle Grades Language Arts or English Approved Area
- OR Arizona Secondary Certificate with Middle Grades Language Arts or English Approved Area
- OR Arizona Subject Matter Expert Certificate 6-12 with English Approved Area
- Arizona SEI, Spanish-Bilingual, or ESL Endorsement
- Current Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card
Preferred Requirements
- Demonstrated success engaging African American and Latino students
- Bilingual (Spanish) endorsement
Additional Requirements After Hire
- Proof of immunity to rubeola (measles) and rubella or proof of MMR immunization
Job Details
- FTE: 1.0 – 7.5 hours per day, 9.5-month work calendar
- Salary: $48,400 to $55,900 per year (prorated if start after first day)
