  • Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations.
  • Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment suited to students' learning styles and needs.
  • Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instruction.
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula according to IEP guidelines.
  • Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods.
  • Plan and supervise teacher aides and volunteers.
  • Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning.
  • Help students improve study methods and habits.
  • Assess student achievement through formal and informal testing.
  • Participate in assigned extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities.
  • Create and manage a classroom environment conducive to learning.
  • Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
  • Communicate with parents, students, principals, and teachers through conferences.
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members.
  • Participate in staff development activities.
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies.
  • Maintain required physical and computerized reports, records, and documents.
