Job description

  • Provide students with appropriate learning activities and experiences in mathematics and algebra
  • Develop and implement lesson plans fulfilling district curriculum requirements
  • Prepare lessons accommodating differences in student learning styles
  • Present subject matter according to Texas Education Agency guidelines, board policies, and administrative regulations
  • Plan and use instructional strategies, activities, materials, and equipment based on students’ learning styles and needs
  • Assess student learning styles and use results to plan instructional activities
  • Collaborate with special education teachers to modify curricula according to Individual Education Plans
  • Work with staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods
  • Plan and supervise assignments of teacher aides and volunteers
  • Use technology to strengthen teaching and learning
  • Help students improve study methods and habits
  • Conduct formal and informal assessments of student achievement
  • Assume assigned extracurricular activities and sponsor approved outside activities
  • Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and student development
  • Manage student behavior according to the Student Code of Conduct and student handbook
  • Protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
  • Conduct conferences with parents, students, principals, and teachers
  • Maintain professional relationships with colleagues, students, parents, and community members
  • Participate in staff development activities
  • Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies
  • Maintain required reports, records, and documents
  • Attend faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
