Job summary

The Bedford College Group is seeking a Teacher – Maths for The Bedford Sixth Form. The role focuses on delivering engaging maths lessons, monitoring student progress, and contributing to curriculum development within the Sixth Form.

You will plan, assess and provide feedback to support achievement, retention and progression while promoting college values and safeguarding. The position is part-time and fixed until December 2026, with pro-rata salary and pension benefits.

Responsibilities

• Deliver engaging, high-quality maths lessons that support achievement and progression.
• Plan, assess and provide timely feedback; maintain accurate progress records and student reports.

• Engage students, participate in parents' evenings and promote the Sixth Form and college.
• Support college-wide activities, uphold health and safety, safeguarding and inclusion policies.

Hours/Weeks: 18.5 hours per week
Contract Type: Fixed Term – Part Time – Fixed until 18 December 2026

About The Role

We are currently seeking a Teacher in Maths to join our Sixth Forms department at The Bedford College Group.

As a Teacher, you play an important role in the success of our students through:

• Teaching & Student Achievement - Deliver engaging, high-quality lessons that develop students’ knowledge, skills and understanding, while supporting achievement, retention and academic success.
• Assessment & Progress Monitoring - Plan and assess learning effectively, provide timely feedback, maintain accurate records of progress, and produce student reports to support continuous improvement.
• Curriculum Development & Enrichment - Contribute to curriculum development, organise enrichment activities such as trips, visits and guest speakers, and help enhance the overall Sixth Form student experience.
• Student Engagement & College Representation - Motivate and inspire learners, participate in parents’ evenings and promotional events, and actively support the promotion of the Sixth Form and wider College.
• Compliance, Collaboration & Professional Development - Support College-wide activities including exams and events, maintain health and safety standards, and promote safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion, and continuous professional development.
