Job summary

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree, valid Texas teaching certificate, and ESL certification within seven months. The district supports teachers with professional growth and coaching stipends, plus TRS health insurance contributions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate for appropriate grade level and content taught.
• ESL certification required within seven months of employment.
• Knowledge of core academic subject area assigned.
• Knowledge of curriculum and instruction.
• Ability to instruct students and manage their behavior.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans that fulfill district curriculum requirements and accommodate student differences.
• Plan and use varied instructional strategies and materials to address diverse learning styles.
• Assess student learning styles and modify curricula with SPED staff per IEPs.
• Collaborate with SPED staff to modify curricula per IEPs.
• Set instructional goals and methods with staff per district requirements.
• Plan and supervise work of instructional aides and volunteers.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student achievement.
• Sponsor extracurricular activities as assigned.
• Be a positive role model and support the district mission.
• Create a productive classroom environment and manage student behavior per handbook.
• Protect students and materials; ensure safety.
• Assist in selecting books and instructional materials.
• Maintain all required reports and records.
• Establish professional relationships and open communication with parents and colleagues.
• Participate in staff development and comply with regulations.
• Attend faculty meetings and serve on committees.
• Follow safety protocols and emergency procedures.
