Steger School District 194 is seeking a passionate Classroom Teacher for grades 2-4 at Steger Intermediate Center. The ideal candidate will create a nurturing learning environment and engage students in various subjects including reading, language arts, and mathematics.
This role requires a valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with K-9 endorsement, as well as strong communication and teaching skills to motivate students and enhance their growth.

To create a flexible elementary grade program and a class environment favorable to learning and personal growth; to establish effective rapport with students; to motivate students to develop skills, attitudes and knowledge needed to provide a good foundation for upper elementary grade education, in accordance with each student ability; and to establish good relationships with parents and with other staff members.
Additional tasks as assigned.
The role requires frequent walking and standing.
The work environment is generally stable, with minimal exposure to unusual temperatures, noise, or hazards. The position requires extended and non‑traditional hours to fulfill job duties, as well as participation in organization‑sponsored events and meetings.
Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with K‑9 endorsement.
Valid Illinois Teacher's License (PEL).
Employment begins on August 1 each year and ends two weeks after the final day of the academic year for students and teachers.
The performance of this role is evaluated according to the Board's policy on evaluating professional personnel.
