Steger School District 194 is seeking a dedicated EL Teacher to provide academic support for students who are English Language Learners. The role involves conducting assessments, developing curriculum, and ensuring effective classroom participation.

JOB TITLE: EL Teacher
LOCATION: Steger Primary Center, Steger Intermediate Center, Columbia Central School
SUPERVISOR: Principal, Director of Student Services
Union/Non-Union: Union
JOB SUMMARY: To provide academic support to students who are English Language Learners to help them transition to speaking, reading and writing the English language.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To excel in this role, the individual must meet the following key responsibilities:
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional tasks as assigned.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: The role requires frequent walking and standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is generally stable, with minimal exposure to unusual temperatures, noise, or hazards. The position requires extended and non-traditional hours to fulfill job duties, as well as participation in organization-sponsored events and meetings.
QUALIFICATIONS:
LICENSES/CREDENTIAL: Valid Illinois Teacher's License (PEL).
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: All terms of employment are outlined by the collective bargaining agreement with the Steger Education Association.
EVALUATION: The performance of this role is evaluated according to the Board's policy on evaluating professional personnel.
