The Special Education Teacher is responsible for developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) for students with diverse learning needs. This role requires collaboration with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create a supportive learning environment that fosters academic, social, and emotional growth for students with disabilities in various educational communities throughout the school setting.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: To excel in this role, the individual must meet the following key responsibilities:
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Additional tasks as assigned.
PHYSICAL ACTIVITY: The role requires frequent walking and standing.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment is generally stable, with minimal exposure to unusual temperatures, noise, or hazards. The position requires extended and non-traditional hours to fulfill job duties, as well as participation in organization-sponsored events and meetings. QUALIFICATIONS:
LICENSES/CREDENTIAL:TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: All terms of employment are outlined by the collective bargaining agreement with the Steger Education Association.
