Job summary

Amergis is seeking a Teacher for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to support students in Chattanooga, TN. You will teach deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils in a classroom, delivering regular or adapted curricula to meet diverse learning needs.

Applicants need a Bachelor’s degree, a valid teaching certificate where required, knowledge of Sign Language and amplification devices, and ASL proficiency or certification as applicable. Travel may be involved.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university preferred.
• Knowledge in Sign Language and use of amplification devices for the deaf and hard-of-hearing.
• ASL proficiency exam or Certification may be required per state.

Responsibilities

• Teach deaf and hard-of-hearing pupils in a classroom setting.
