SUMMARY: A teacher will implement effective teaching strategies to promote student success and foster an exemplary educational environment that supports achievement for all students.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, prepare, and deliver instructional activities.
  2. Create a positive educational climate conducive to learning.
  3. Meet course and school-wide student performance goals.
  4. Participate in ongoing professional development.
  5. Develop and modify lesson plans throughout the year.
  6. Grade papers and perform administrative duties as needed.
  7. Stay current with educational topics and best practices.
  8. Use various curriculum resources and technologies to enhance learning.
  9. Align lesson plans with competencies, goals, and objectives.
  10. Incorporate diverse curricula reflecting students' backgrounds.
  11. Establish and communicate clear learning objectives.
  12. Prepare and distribute communication to parents.
  13. Observe and evaluate student performance.
  14. Manage classroom behavior effectively.

Education and Related Work Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications:

  • Criminal background check required.
  • Obtain or possess a valid Colorado Educator License within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have the required license and endorsement; if highly qualified by content test or semester hours, must possess a Colorado license with a passing score or relevant coursework.

Preference given to candidates with ELL training and/or ESL or LDE endorsements.

Internal Candidates Only:

  • Transfers occurring 15 working days before the start of the school year, with specific conditions and approvals.

Salary Information (External Candidates):

Placement depends on education and experience; one year of experience equals one year of salary credit up to ten years. Verification of outside experience is the employee's responsibility.
