Job summary

AWARE in Helena, MT is hiring an Early Head Start Teacher to start at $18.68–$19.93 per hour (full-time). You will support a comprehensive child development program for children six weeks through three years and work within Head Start settings as part of a compassionate team focused on quality care and family engagement.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED/HiSET required.
• Minimum one year of experience in a licensed early childhood facility; CDA preferred or willingness to obtain.
• 60 hours childcare training; knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start.

Responsibilities

• Assist in guiding the implementation of a comprehensive child development program that meets the Head Start definition of curriculum in all program options and settings for children six weeks through three years old.
• Apply theories and sound principles of child and parent education to help children develop relationships, explore, make choices, solve problems, and build age-appropriate skills.
• Plan and participate in parent education and parent involvement activities; present as a clinical coordinator in developing and implementing service and individual treatment plans.

Requirements

Talents, skills, and abilities:

• HS Diploma/GED/HiSET
• Minimum CDA or willingness to begin obtainment of a CDA immediately upon hire and one year of experience in a licensed early childhood facility.
• AA/AS or BA/BS Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field is preferred but not required. 60 hours of childcare training, experience with an evidence-based infant/toddler curriculum, and knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start.
