Job summary

AWARE in Billings, MT is hiring an Early Head Start Teacher. The position is full-time with an hourly rate between 18.68 and 19.93 starting, and offers a benefits package including health insurance, FSA, HSA, 401k, and professional development opportunities.

We seek candidates with a HS Diploma/GED/HiSET, CDA or willingness to obtain, and relevant experience in licensed early childhood settings. A related degree is preferred, but not required.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma/GED/HiSET required.
• CDA or willingness to begin CDA with at least 1 year in a licensed early childhood facility.
• AA/AS or BA/BS in ECE or related field preferred; 60 hours childcare training and Head Start knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing a comprehensive child development program for children from six weeks through three years old.
• Apply theories and principles of child and parent education to help children develop relationships, self-help skills, and problem solving.
• Plan and participate in parent education and involvement activities; assist in developing and implementing service and individual treatment plans.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in guiding the implementation of a comprehensive child development program that meets the Head Start definition of curriculum in all program options and settings to assigned children six weeks through three years of age.
• Practice theories and sound principles of child and parent education in an environment in which children can develop personal relationships, experiment, make choices, solve problems, and develop age-appropriate social and self-help skills.
• Plan and participate in parent education and parent involvement activities. Present as a clinical coordinator in developing and implementing service and individual treatments plans.

Requirements

Talents, skills, and abilities:

• HS Diploma/GED/HiSET
• Minimum CDA or willingness to begin obtainment of a CDA immediately upon hire and one year of experience in a licensed early childhood facility.
• AA/AS or BA/BS Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or related field is preferred but not required. 60 hours of childcare training, experience with an evidence-based infant/toddler curriculum, and knowledge of Head Start/Early Head Start.
