Job summary

Qualifications

• A bachelor’s degree; a master’s degree preferred.
• A valid New Jersey instructional certificate with appropriate endorsement(s).
• At least four years working in public education.
• Demonstrate knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, classroom management, learning assessment and diagnosis, and research related to learning.
• A record of strong instructional experiences and skills; experience in teacher leadership preferred.
• Management and communication skills.
• Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.

Responsibilities

• Establish and promote high standards and expectations for all students and staff for excellent academic performance.
• Work on the selection, development, coordination, and implementation of the district’s curriculum.
• Develop, schedule, coordinate, implement, and monitor professional development.
• Gather and analyze school-based assessment data to be used for data-driven instructional decisions.
• Assist Principals, Assistant/Vice Principals, Supervisors, Department Chairpersons, and Instructional Chairpersons with guidance to teachers and paraprofessionals in development and improvement of teaching.
• Work collaboratively with school staff ensuring effective analysis and use of data to inform instruction leading to increased student achievement.
• Assist teachers in the administration, collection, analysis, and dissemination of formative and summative assessment results.
• Conduct planning conferences with teachers to assess needs and plan in-class support.
• Communicate consistently and confidentially with teachers via visits, phone conversations, or email.
