Job summary

Education Jobs NJ seeks an Athletic Coach for Passaic, NJ. The role reports to the Director of Athletics and Supervisor of Athletics, and requires NJ teaching or substitute certification plus coaching experience.

The coach will maintain a positive learning environment, supervise athletes, coordinate practices, games, transportation, and equipment, and ensure compliance with policies and regulations of the Passaic Board of Education.

Qualifications

• Must hold valid NJ teaching or substitute certification.
• Coaching experience in the assigned sport preferred.
• Ability to maintain a positive learning environment and high standards of conduct.

Responsibilities

• Maintain discipline and work to increase morale and cooperation within the school athletic program.
• Assist in scheduling, transportation and requirements for tournaments and special events.
• Assist in preparation for practices and events and coordinate with maintenance and school staff.
• Provide documentation for state and system requirements (exams, consent, eligibility, codes).
• Direct and supervise student managers, assistants and statisticians.
• Contact parents when a student is dropped or becomes ineligible.
• Monitor equipment rooms and issue/equip as needed.
• Ensure athletes are in authorized areas and leave secure after hours.
