Requirements / Qualifications

Teach Music to all Transitional Kindergarten through Third Grade General Education classes, plus four Moderate/Severe Kindergarten through Fifth Grade Special Education Classes. The teacher will use the philosophy of Education Through Music, during which children are exposed to song, movement games, social skill building and problem solving while engaging in the building blocks of what it takes to become musically literate. The teacher will focus on the building of imagination, while developing an awareness of pitch, beat, rhythmic acuity, and form. The teacher will develop a consistent alternating schedule so that each class participates biweekly in a Music class. This position is for one seven-hour day per week, for 34 weeks. This is an hourly, timesheet-based position. Work hours and assignments will be determined based on student and program needs.
