Job summary

Grand Haven Area Public Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant/Paraprofessional for the Duneside Discovery Center at Mary A. White. This on-site position runs Monday through Friday, around 5.5 hours per day, with a starting pay of $16.60 per hour.

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, plus 60 college hours or an associate degree, or pass a basic skills test. Strong classroom skills, teamwork, and ability to follow behavioral plans are essential.

Applicants for this position must meet the following criteria:

• Must possess a high school diploma or its equivalent. Must also meet requirements of 60 hours of study completed at a college/university; or Associate's (or higher) degree; or pass a competency test (Michigan Test for Teacher - Basic Skills Test or ETS ParaPro Test - Math, Reading and Writing tests).
• Demonstrated ability to work positively with students.
• Self directed with good organizational and communication skills.
• Must have ability to follow through with prescribed behavioral management programs.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in both a team and individual tutoring situation.
