Mile High Early Learning is hiring a Teacher Assistant & Staff Aide II at our Denver locations to support lead teachers in preparing a safe, engaging Montessori-inspired classroom for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.

Salary ranges from $21.61 to $22.69 per hour with a signing bonus, paid time off, health and dental insurance, and a robust benefits package. Ideal candidates have a High School diploma or GED and experience with young children; Colorado PDIS Level II or CDA is preferred.

Qualifications

• CDA or less than 5 ECE classes, or Level II (3.0) (not expired)
• PDIS Level II, or qualified as an Early Childhood Teacher (completed 101 or 103 and another ECE class)
• High School or GED.
• Experience working with young children preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with daily routine activities (supplies, attendance, snacks, cleanup).
• Support implementation of child guidance and smooth transitions between activities.
• Assist with home visits and parent-teacher conferences.
• Be flexible to changing classroom conditions and ages.
• Maintain a safe, clean classroom and ensure proper ratios.

Early childhood Teacher Assistants support the Lead Teacher in the planning, organizing and delivery of a developmentally appropriate learning environment based on the individual cognitive, motor, social and emotional needs of the children. This person will assist the classroom teacher in managing the classroom to create a positive, healthy and safe learning space.

Responsibilities include for Teacher Assistant & Staff Aide II:

• Assist with all aspects of the daily routine, including distributing and collecting supplies, keeping attendance records, serving snacks / lunches and maintaining classroom cleanliness
• Assist with the implementation of effective child guidance techniques; define and communicate appropriate limits and boundaries for children, ensure smooth transitions between activities
• Assist with home visits and parent teacher conferences
• Be flexible and adaptable to changing classroom conditions
• May be assigned to different classrooms and ages of children to ensure appropriate teacher/child ratios
• Maintain a clean classroom environment, wash and disinfect tables after snacks / meals, art projects and other classroom activities throughout the day, pick up toys, books and other materials, keep floors and sleeping areas free of debris, sweep floors, clean counters and cabinets as needed to ensure a safe and healthy environment
• Follow directions of the classroom teacher working one-to-one or in small groups with children
• Assist with the implementation of the Montessori inspired approach in the classroom
