Job summary

Apple Montessori Schools is seeking a Teacher Assistant (Preschool) at their Wayne, NJ location. The role supports Lead Teachers in a nurturing Montessori environment from 3:00pm to 6:30pm, Monday through Friday.

You will help create a safe, engaging classroom, assist with lesson plans, and communicate with families while encouraging independence and children’s confidence.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• CPR / First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Genuine love of children.
• Physically able to kneel, bend, squat, lift, push, pull and carry children.
• Excellent communication with families.

Responsibilities

• Ensure a safe, clean, and engaging learning environment for all students
• Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to support and implement lesson plans
• Maintain accurate student records and assist with family communication
• Encourage positive self-image while supporting individuality, independence, and creativity

Teacher Assistant Preschool

Location: Wayne, NJ

Hours: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm - 6:30pm

As a Teacher Assistant at Apple Montessori Schools, you’ll have the opportunity to turn your passion for working with children into a meaningful career in Early Childhood Education. You will work closely with Lead Teachers to support children as they explore, grow, and build independence in a nurturing Montessori environment. Our Teacher Assistants provide warmth, encouragement, and guidance as children try new experiences, form friendships, and develop confidence and curiosity.

As a member of our teaching team, some of your responsibilities will include:

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
