Job summary

Horizon Education Centers is seeking a dedicated Preschool Teacher Assistant in Berea, OH. The role partners with the Lead Teacher to deliver daily lessons and supervise children in a caring, structured environment.

The position is full-time with an hourly wage ranging from $14.00 to $15.50, based on experience, training, and education. Reports to the Center Director and supports program goals across multiple centers.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Experience in childcare preferred.
• Knowledge of Ohio Early Learning Content Standards helpful.
• Willingness to update knowledge and training as required.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
• Background checks and screenings required.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher in daily lesson planning and ensure high levels of interaction with children.
• Care for and supervise children in accordance with licensing standards.
• Work independently with small groups and collaboratively with teachers and staff.
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and staff through cheerful, professional service and problem-solving.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and supportive learning environment.

Preschool Teacher Assistant

Locations Currently Hiring Teacher Assistants:

Berea Childcare Center in Berea, Ohio - Hours: 9am - 5:30pm M-F

Wage Information: Full-time hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $14.00 to 15.50 per hour.

CPL 1 $14.00 per hour / CPL 2 and up $15.50 per hour

Reports to: Center Director

Job Description:

• Works with the Lead Teacher to prepare and implement the daily lesson plans and ensures a high level of interaction with children
• Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices
• Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director
• Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit
• Maintains a clean, safe and emotionally supportive environment that is conducive to learning and is centered on the needs and abilities of the children
• Complete and document services provided, such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required
• Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information
• All other duties as needed/assigned

QualificationsQualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a childcare setting are required
• Strong familiarity with lesson planning and implementation, incorporating all domains of the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards using Creative Curriculum is preferred
• Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
• Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
• We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required
• Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required
