Horizon Education Centers in Cleveland, OH is hiring a Preschool Teacher Assistant to support the Lead Teacher, implement daily lesson plans, and supervise children with safety and care. This full-time position offers 40 hours per week, Monday–Friday, at the Old Brooklyn center.

Preschool Teacher Assistant

Locations Currently Hiring Teacher Assistants:

• Old Brooklyn Childcare Center in Cleveland, Ohio -
• The Teacher Assistant requires experience in a childcare center or program that is similar. Hours are to be determined, but will be 40 hours per week M-F.

Wage Information:

Full-time hourly position commensurate with experience, training, and education. Pay Rate Range: $14.00 to 15.50 per hour.

• CPL 1 $14.00 per hour / CPL 2 and up $15.50 per hour
• Classroom Aide Pay is $13.75 per hour
• Reports to: Center Director

Job Description:

• Works with the Lead Teacher to prepare and implement the daily lesson plans and ensures a high level of interaction with children
• Responsible for the care and supervision of children and classroom management at all times in accordance with licensing standards and best practices
• Work independently with a small group of children and as part of a team with other teachers, leads, center staff and the director
• Build positive relationships with children, families and other staff members through prompt and accurate response and service, cheerful and professional attitude, and problem-solving spirit
• Maintains a clean, safe and emotionally supportive environment that is conducive to learning and is centered on the needs and abilities of the children
• Complete and document services provided, such as progress reports, attendance screenings, and assessments as required
• Provide functional classroom support and assist with meal service as required
• Maintain professionalism and confidentiality with personnel and family information
• All other duties as needed/assigned

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent and experience in a childcare setting are required
• Strong familiarity with lesson planning and implementation, incorporating all domains of the Ohio Early Learning Content Standards using Creative Curriculum is preferred
• Willingness to update job knowledge with required training, DCY licensing rules and SUTQ professional development opportunities, and industry trends
• Must be able to adapt quickly to changing environments and assignments as required
• We seek someone who is prompt and reliable and who possesses a genuine love of children
• Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs. as required
• Must be able to pass background checks and physical/ medical screening as required
