Job summary

Columbia Child Development Program in Berwick, PA is seeking a dedicated Teacher Assistant for our Head Start classrooms. You’ll help plan and implement developmentally appropriate activities, support children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical growth, and create a safe, engaging learning environment.

You will work closely with lead teachers, communicate with families, and help maintain attendance, assessments, and progress notes.

Qualifications

• Experience with young children and families; knowledge of development, health, nutrition, and education needs.
• CDA within 24 months or AA in Early Childhood Education as required by level.
• Starting pay rates listed: $13.89, $16.50, $17.74 per hour.

Responsibilities

• Support teachers in planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities.
• Interact positively with children to promote development.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, healthy, organized classroom environment.
• Step into lead role in teacher’s absence.
• Communicate daily with parents and staff to support each child’s development.
• Maintain attendance, assessments, and progress notes.
