Job summary

UCP of Central Florida is seeking a Teacher Assistant-Floater to support PreK-12 students as needed across classrooms in Orlando. The Floater covers assignments based on daily demand, assisting with instruction, materials, assessments, and progress documentation.

Ideal candidates have a GED or high school diploma, CPR/First Aid, and DCF 45-hour certification. Prior experience with children and disabilities is preferred; strong communication with staff and families is essential.

Qualifications

• G.E.D. or high school diploma.
• DCF 45 hour within 90 days of hire if doing after care/summer or camp.
• CRP/First Aid Training.

Responsibilities

• Implements lesson plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
• Assists in planning and developing/setting up instructional materials for classroom.
• Assist in administering assessments/progress monitoring.
• Works with the teacher in documenting academic progress through authentic observations and data collection.
• Utilize and ensure consistent implementation of behavior techniques and classroom management techniques and data collection.
• Perform paraprofessional duties in his/her absence.
• Keep up on best and promising practices for education, e.g., attending professional development.
• Provide caretaking/housekeeping duties as needed.
• Maintain positive staff and parent interactions and communication.
• Attend required trainings, meetings and events.
• Ensure administration is informed of all parent and individual student concerns and complaints.
• Ensure compliance with procedures, requirements and guidelines set forth by UCP, HIPAA, NAEYC, Department of Education, 4C, Department of Children and Families, and other State and Federal agencies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Responsibilities:

• - Implements lessons plan including instructional groups per teacher’s direction.
