Job summary

Meeting Street in Providence, RI seeks a Teacher Assistant for the Early Learning Center for 40 hours per week. This full-time role supports teachers with daily activities, supervision, and education for children birth to age 5.

Ideal candidates will have a High School Diploma or GED, 12+ college credits in Early Childhood Education, CPR/First Aid, and at least one year of experience with young children. The position offers competitive pay, PTO, holidays, and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• 12+ College credits in Early Childhood Education from an accredited university are required; an Associate's Degree is preferred.
• Valid CPR and First Aid training/certification is required.
• Minimum of 1 year working experience with children ages birth to 5.
• Work hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to the teacher in classroom activities, cleanliness, supervision, curriculum and assessment.
• Partners with families to ensure high quality care and education for young children.
• Maintains a clean, organized, child-friendly learning environment per state regulations.
• Always maintains supervision of children (indoor/outdoor) with approved licensing ratios.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED required

• Valid CPR and first aid training/certification
