Description
Full-time Teacher Assistant/Driver (TAD) needed for students with a variety of special education support needs in the Science-based Approaches to Independence and Life Skills (SAILS) program located at ACES Center for Autism Spectrum and Developmental Disorders (CASDD), Northford, CT. SAILS serves students ages 11-22 years old who demonstrate significant cognitive, social, behavioral, and communication needs. A strong emphasis is placed on functional life skills taught in our contrived environments. Students also learn through outings in the community where transportation is provided by the Teacher Assistant/Driver. Our TADs transport SAILS students to and from school then work in their assigned classroom each day delivering instruction in the areas of life skills, academics, self-help skills, communication, and behavior support. This position includes a high level of training and coaching to ensure every staff member is successful in meeting the needs of our students.
This position includes a comprehensive benefits package including health insurance and paid time off.
Starting salary is $24.49 per hour.
SAILS operates on a 190-day school year which begins in mid-August. There is also a summer program which runs the month of July.
