JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB TITLE: TA - CREDIT RECOVERY LAB Assistant/APEX

GENERAL STATEMENT OF JOB

Under occasional supervision, coordinates and manages credit recovery lab for students in ninth through twelfth grades; provides instruction and guidance to students in the lab, performs related professional and administrative work as assigned. Reports to the Principal.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities

• Develops, implements and manages credit recovery learning programs for students in the ninth through twelfth grades.
• Monitors attendance and performance.
• Receives and responds to inquiries, concerns and complaints in areas of responsibility.
• Operates equipment such as a computer, printer, fax machine, copier, calculator, telephone, audiovisual equipment, etc.; uses clerical, copier, computer supplies.
• Sequences and assesses students in age‑appropriate academic tasks.
• Organizes and sets up the lab for conducive learning environment.
• Provides appropriate student support for assigned lessons in APEX courses.
• Monitors student progress with assignments.
• Collaborate with guidance department to ensure students are working to complete courses.
• Contact and communicate with parents frequently to inform parents of their student’s progress.
• Interacts and communicates with various groups and individuals such as the immediate supervisor, Principal, assistant principals, school faculty and staff.
• Ensure courses are closed when completed, grades are recorded and communicated to the school counselor.

Additional Job Functions

• Performs routine administrative/office tasks as required.
• Performs related duties as required.

Minimum Training and Experience

• Requires a minimum 60 college credit hours.
• Content knowledge of Algebra I and English I.
• Desirable. Must possess a valid state driver’s license.

Qualifications

High school diploma with two year (60 hours) of college. Demonstrated aptitude for the work to be performed.
