Job summary

Norwescap is hiring for a role supporting classrooms serving at-risk children. You will assist teachers, help implement curriculum, and support individual education plans in a fast-paced setting.

The position emphasizes safety, active supervision, and data entry, with opportunities for cross-training and professional development in a nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Working towards CDA to be completed within two years of hire (required).
• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience working with young children required.
• 2+ years of experience in Early Childhood Education preferred.
• Experience with at-risk populations and Head Start preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist teacher in maintaining a safe, clean, and healthy environment for children and staff.
• Implement active supervision strategies.
• Assist children with individual education plans.
• Assist in lesson planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and assessment for the classroom.
• Implement screenings and assessments.

Expected Hours and Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, partial year position (approx. 43 weeks)
