Job summary

Norwescap in New Jersey is seeking an Early Childhood Assistant to support classrooms serving at‑risk children. You will help maintain a safe, clean environment, assist teachers, and contribute to developmentally appropriate activities and assessments.

The role offers cross-training, growth opportunities, and a 37.5-hour week with a partial-year schedule. Norwescap provides tuition reimbursement and staff wellness resources, plus a benefits package including holidays.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Working toward CDA within two years of hire; ECE associates degree preferred.
• Experience working with young children (required).
• 2+ years of experience in Early Childhood Education (preferred).
• Experience with at‑risk populations and/or Head Start (preferred).

Responsibilities

Expected Hours and Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, partial year position (approx. 43 weeks)
