GREAT LAKES COMMUNITY ACTION PARTNERSHIP is seeking a Teacher Assistant for preschool education in Fostoria, OH. You will support a safe, developmentally appropriate learning environment and help implement lesson plans under Head Start standards.

This seasonal full-time role offers 34 hours per week, a Monday–Thursday schedule, and compensation of $18.00–$19.61 per hour based on education. Benefits include health coverage from day one and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Holds a CDA credential or state-awarded certificate.
• Be enrolled in a CDA program to be completed within two years of hire.
• Be enrolled in a program leading to an associate or bachelor's degree.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate activities and strategies to support preschool children’s social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development.
• Assist with creating an age-appropriate learning environment that accommodates individual differences.
• Promote a positive learning environment and supportive teacher–child interactions.
• Substitute for teaching staff and assist with classroom activities.
• Organize, sanitize and store classroom equipment and supplies.
• Recruit and direct volunteers.
• Assist in conducting 2 educational home visits per child per year.
• Maintain accurate records and submit records as requested.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor.

Position Overview

Provide a safe, supportive, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for preschool children. Support daily classroom activities, assist with implementing lesson plans, and ensure compliance with Head Start Performance Standards and applicable regulations.

Education

• High school diploma or GED.

Experience

• Early childhood development or related childcare experience preferred.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
