Job summary

Acquire4Hire is seeking a Teacher Assistant in Charleston, SC to support teachers and the director by helping create a caring, safe environment for children and assisting in activities to enhance education. You will communicate, listen and collaborate in a team to implement a quality program and build positive relationships with children and parents.

You will observe and document children's interests and progress, relay information to staff, and deliver developmentally appropriate activities

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Understanding of child development and age-appropriate activities.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Must pass full background check and health screening.

Responsibilities

Assisting the staff in implementing a quality educational program and in developing positive relationships with the children and their parents, the Teacher Assistant observes and documents children's interest and progress, and relays that information back to parents and staff. Teacher Assistants are responsible for implementing developmentally appropriate activities based on children's interests and needs under the direction of the Teacher and the Director.

Requirements

• Excellent leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Ability to get on the floor with children and lift 35lbs.
