We are seeking a highly motivated, flexible, and student-centered Alternative Learning Lab (ALL) / Student Support Center Teacher to join our team. This unique and impactful role requires a passionate educator who can thrive in a dynamic, non-traditional setting. The ideal candidate possesses strong classroom management skills, proficiency with blended and online learning platforms, and a deep commitment to meeting the diverse needs of students who require an alternative path to success. Bachelor's degree in Education or a relevant field. Valid State Teaching Certification/License in a core academic subject (e.g., Secondary Math, English Language Arts, Social Studies, or Science), or the ability to obtain licensure.
Experience working with at-risk youth or students in alternative education settings. Experience with trauma-informed educational practices. Experience with online learning platforms.
Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple student cases and instructional modalities simultaneously. Strong classroom and behavior management skills with the ability to maintain a calm, focused, and orderly workspace. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues. The ability to build strong, positive, and trusting relationships with students who may have faced previous academic or personal obstacles. A resourceful, flexible, and proactive approach to problem-solving.
