Job summary

Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Teacher Aide for the Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD). You will support instruction, follow behavior plans, assist with self-care, and help manage health procedures under supervision.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED; experience with severe disabilities is preferred, and CPR certification is required. Base salary ranges from $25,248 to $29,472 annually.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience working with individuals with severe disabilities preferred.
• Maintain CPR certification as required by the district/agency.

Responsibilities

• Implement student instructional program as directed by teacher.
• Follow behavior support plans of individual students.
• Accommodate for each student’s individual communication needs.
• Follow daily schedule of work activities.
• Perform the daily self-care needs of students (e.g., diapering, feeding, hand washing, tooth brushing etc.).
• Follow student specific health care procedures as trained by the school nurse.
