Job summary

The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education is seeking a Teacher Aide for Missouri Schools for the Severely Disabled (MSSD). This base salary ranges from $25,248 to $29,472 annually and may be enhanced by years-of-service adjustments or shift differentials.

Responsibilities include implementing instructional programs, following behavior plans, and assisting with students’ daily needs, schedules, and safety. CPR certification and a high school diploma are required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED is required.
  • Experience with individuals with severe disabilities is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Implement student instructional program as directed by the teacher.
  • Follow behavior support plans for individual students.
  • Accommodate for each student’s individual communication needs.
  • Follow daily work schedule.
  • Provide daily self-care assistance for students.
  • Follow health care procedures as trained by the nurse.
  • Assist with arrival and dismissal and bus transfers.
  • Maintain a safe school environment for students.
  • Complete 15 hours of in-service in year one and 10 hours each year thereafter.
  • Maintain confidentiality of student and staff information.
  • Maintain CPR certification according to AHA/Red Cross for Health Care Providers.
